Revolutions in ancient Egypt.
Ancient Egypt had three different kinds of revolutions
# The social revolution
The Egyptians were quite fed up of the government during the old kingdom ( the kingdom of the power of the king )During the reign of Pepi II ( the man ruled the longest rule in the Egyptian history , he ruled for about 94 years . The long rule led to weakness in the government , the rulers of the districts and big cities started to be kind of separated from the king in the big palace , and at the end Egypt once again was divided into two parts ( upper and lower Egypt ), reunified later by Montuhotep Nebhetebra .At this time there was chaos; people came in places and take things that doesn’t belong to them.
#The revolution happened 1184 B.C
During the reign of Ramses III (an amazing General of the Army defeater of sea people). In the 29th year of Ramses III rule , few days before his Sed festival , it seems that most of the economy of the country was going towards that kind of festivity , this made people kind of starting to talk .The workers of the west bank living in Deir el medina ( 70 of the big families of the artisans and the workers working in the royal tombs the most skilled workers in ancient Egypt ) , they were not paid for 18 days , so they started to go to their supervisors and priests in front of the temple of tuhutmosIII and said to them “ we were not paid our seeds “ (Seeds were the way of payment at that time ) , and started shouting” we are hungry, we are hungry ….” . This is documented by a man called Amon Nakht “scribe of the tomb “ All the supervisors didn’t want the news reach the king, so they went to the police general to solve the problem. the police general called Menshumes came out for the crowds and asked “what is your problem guys? “, they answered “we were not paid our seeds for the last 18 days, we know that the seeds are inside the storage rooms, the general said “we don’t have seeds “the protesters said “you have seeds because we have paid these seeds a taxes before. the general asked again “ so what is problem ?” they replied shouting we don’t have vegetables ,linen , oil , seeds , bread , fish ……and fish here means that the Nile flood didn’t come . It seems that the general has sympathized with the protesters so he said “go home, get your kids, get your wives, put on whatever you have, I am going to take you to the temple (the ramseum: close to the royal palace) to sit in. protesters were given the seed and food , however the revolution still afire till few years before the death of the king.
The revolution was peaceful revolution , on victims , no destruction of building ,…….The revolution wasn’t a starving revolution , because one of its raisons was apolitical raison : There was a man whose job is the minister of upper Egypt and was promoted to be the minister of upper and lower Egypt , the Egyptian didn’t like that .
# The religious revolution of Akahanaten (ruled 17 years ).
Akhanaten abandoned the worship of Amen and other deities and called for the worship of one god called Aten represented in the sun disk . That led to the revolution of the priests of Amen till the end of Akhaneten reign .
According to Mr bassam al Sammaa in a TV show .
